Laurie Anderson, a major activist in the New York art scene known especially for her innovative use of technology, comes to present her new multimedia creation The Art of Falling.

Find a sense of freedom in the present moment—through the sounds and visuals of ESCAPE. The latest album by Rubin Kodheli, the acclaimed cellist and composer described by Laurie Anderson as “an endless font of musical ideas,” asks audiences: What mechanisms do we rely on to rediscover and follow our path? Celebrated Tibetan artist, composer, and activist Tenzin Choegyal joins Kodheli onstage for a rare artistic collaboration of Eastern and Western traditions, leading the audience on an experiential pathway of deep sounds and words.

Violinist Laurie Anderson and her string ensemble – bassist Greg Cohen, violist Eyvind Kang, cellist Rubin Kodheli and percussionist Shahzad Ismaily – present a concert featuring the songs and texts of Laurie and her late husband and collaborator Lou Reed.

Improvisational and incantatory, this immersive performance will feature Laurie Anderson and her string ensemble, Greg Cohen, Eyvind Kang and Rubin Kodheli, and percussionist Shahzad Ismaily, alongside New Zealand musicians including Horomona Horo and Megan Collins, Jo Hilder, Budi Putra and Gregory Street from Gamelan Wellington.
